This research investigates ship motion analysis for the SA Agulhas using numerical and experimental methods. Ship motion is essential to understand for optimizing ship design technology and ensuring safe maritime operations. The response amplitude operator (RAO), also known as the transfer function, is employed as an electronic filter analogy to characterize ship motion. Experimental results from visual observation and gyroscopic sensors are compared with numerical predictions to evaluate their consistency and discrepancies. The analysis contributes to enhancing our understanding of ship behaviour in various sea conditions.
