The supercritical solvent impregnation of textiles with therapeutic components
Ethics reference number: 2019FEREC-STD-120
This study compares SSI (supercritical solvent impregnation) and ambient immersion of three different substrates (lycra, cotton and polyester) in three therapeutic components (buchu, tea tree oil and hops extract). The comparison was based on the solute retention, substrate bioactivity, effect of pressure and the persistence of the retained solutes. The raw experimental data used for these comparisons are included in the document provided.
