This study aims at improving RO membrane surface antimicrobial properties through chemical graft polymerization using ADMH to enhance resistance to biofouling. The investigation of RO membrane biofouling resistance using a lab-scale flat cell system with gram-negative bacteria E. coli and gram-positive bacteria S. aureus solutions simulating the microbial activity of municipal MBR effluent. The analysis and characterization of the RO membrane surface properties before and after modification will be investigated using a model predicting performance. This study will address the challenge of biofouling of the RO membrane in the application of recycling.
